A Fork in the Road
by Joules Z.
When you reach a crossroads
while on a tumultuous topsy-turvy road
far away from your abode,
Do you take your turn?
Is it your turn to turn around
and turn away and take it?
Root up the seeds that were sewed,
stop and drop the burden load.
Do you break free to the exit,
almost bare naked
just to make it?
Do you go on hiatus in “do not disturb” mode,
with a heavy load on a long cold road?
Do you delay at snail turtle pace burning bright candles at both ends?
Which way do you go when the road bends?
Both detrimental directions lead back to the same place,
since both beelined directions you travel around the globe you will end up where you began.
Hence it would make most sense,
for peace of mind, to find a rewind.
The sands of time, with open minute hands, reach the arms of time.
Hold them out slightly for balance, and step into the sun lightly.
